4 years after its release, Anthem reaches 5 million copies sold

Despite its failure, Anthem achieved an unprecedented milestone for the game

What was meant to be a success turned into a failure. One of Eletronic Arts’ most promising projects, Anthem, reached the milestone of 5 million copies sold after 4 years since its release in 2019.

The information was provided by the former Senior Marketing Manager at EA, Alexandre Scriabine, on his LinkedIn profile. With the hype generated at the time, the shooter had everything to win over fans and elevate the level of the multiplayer experience.

However, it did not withstand criticism regarding its design, bugs, and other issues, ultimately being abandones ever by EA itself. The initial sales projection was for the game to reach 5 or 6 million units sold by March 2019 - evidently, they failed miserably.
