BACK TO THE ROOTS, THE NEXT BATTLEFIELD WILL HAVE A FREE BATTLE ROYALE MODE
EA is working hard to ensure that the new Battlefield is a success
After the failure of Battlefield 2042, the franchise found itself surrounded by an uncertain future. To restore the glory days to one of the popular FPS game, EA has been working hard to ensure that the next installment in the series is a success.
According to information from Insider Gaming, the plans for Battlefield are promising, as the developer has several projects in progress, and one of them will adopt a “back to the roots” aproach, including a free battle royale mode in the game.
With the departure of the creative director of Ridgeline Games, Marcus Lehto, the franchise is now under the leadership of Vince Zempalla from Respawn Entertainment, along with Christian Grass leading Ripple Effect (formerly DICE LA), and Byron Beede as the new general manager.
The studio aims to return to its roots with 64-player matches, a 4-class system, and an overhaul of the destruction system. Set in modern era, between 2025 and 2030, the new Battlefield is not expected to make an appearance until 2025.

The success of Call of Duty: Warzone inspired Byron Beede, who previously worked on the title, to pursue a similar strategy in Battlefield.
According to Insider Gaming, Ripple Effect is workin on two game modes, including the classic battle royale experience and a mode called Gauntlet, where teams compete in objective-based modes, with the lowest-scoring team being eliminated after each mission. Unfortunately, EA has not officially commented on the matter, so it is recommended to consider the information with caution.
