The creator of Devil May Cry would love to make a remake of the first game
An interesting possibility for the future
Do you know what Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, and Viewtiful Joe have in common? Two things: they all have involvement from the legendary Hideki Kamiya (former Capcom and former PlatinumGames), and they're all quite old. What if there were remakes of these games? For Hideki Kamiya, that's a desire he has, but nor necessarily a certainty.

Currently, Hideki Kamiya is unemployed: after personal decisions (“trust issues”, according to him), the director left PlatinumGames in 2023 and is now focusing on producing content for his YouTube channel. In one of his recent videos, he was asked if he would make a Devil May Cry remake.
In response, the developer revealed that despite there already being an HD remastered version available for purchase, he would love to reimagine the first game in the series, wich today may be the most different from the entire franchise, with slower mechanics and DNA from Resident Evil.
Furthermore, Kamiya extended the response and revealed that he would also like to ranke Bayonetta and Viewtiful Joe, two projects he was involved in the past as well, offering modernized graphics and updated mechanics.

Despite mentioning that he would like to remake Devil May Cry and other games, this is certainly just a personal wish and not a confirmation or rumor that it might happen.
