Elden Ring 2 and MORE expansions? Learn what the director said

The director of Elden Ring spoke about the future of the franchise and addressed questions about sequels and additional DLCs

Now that Shadow of the Erdtree, the expansion of Elden Ring, has finally emerged from the shadows with a trailer and release date, many can’t stop speculating about the future of the franchise.

In an interview with IGN, Hidetaka Miyazaki, the game director, stated that at the moment, there are no plans for a sequel or more expansions. However, he left something quite interesting open-ended.

The director stated that he does not want the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC to be “the end of the Elden Ring saga”, comment that should give fans room for future speculation. Furthermore, the possibility of Elden Ring 2 or another form of continuation is not completely ruled out.

“We don’t have any current plans to make a second DLC or a sequel, but we definitely don’t want to snuff out that possibility”, said Miyazaki.

Shadow of the Erdtree arrives on June 21, 2024, for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
