Helldivers 2: New update disconnects AFK players

A democratic solution

Arrowhead has released a new update for Helldivers 2, with the main highlight being the detection and expulsion system for inactive players, commonly known as AFK.

This feature has been highly requested by the Helldivers 2 community, especially due to the difficulty of getting into this game, with servers consistently near their capacity. To secure a spot, some players log into Helldivers during less crowded hours and leave the game open, potentially denying an active player a spot.

In the game’s Discord, many have admitted to this practice. One user mentioned leaving the session active before heading to work to ensure they could play Helldivers 2 when they got home. Another stated they hadn’t disconnected for three days.

Now, Arrowhead has adressed the issue with update 1.000.11 for PlayStation 5 and PC, introducing a feature that automatically kicks players who remain inactive for 15 minutes.

Additionally, there are several stability fixes and corrections for crashes and bugs. You can check out all the update notes here.
