Hideo Kojima may have announced the first game for PS6 (and no one noticed)
After the last State of Play, Hideo Kojima revealed that the project known as Physint will be released only in the "next generation"
It was pratically certain that the first State of Play in 2024 would bring news about Death Stranding 2. Nevertheless, the audience was surprised by the quality, scope, and eccentricity of the material presented by Hideo Kojima. The biggest surprise of the event, however, may have been an announcement made by the developer for the…PS6?!
Operating under the codename Physint, the project that is being seen as a sort of spiritual successor to the Metal Gear Solid franchise is being developed in collaboration with Sony and may be released exclusively on the next generation of the company’s consoles.

In a post made on his official Twitter profiles shortly after the end of the show’s broadcast, Hideo Kojima gave the audience a few more details about the third franchise from Kojima Productions - alongside Death Stranding and OD, with Xbox.
“PHYSINT (working title)” will be the third, new original IP since the establishment of KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS. It is a completely new “Action Espionage” for the next-generation. It will be created using cutting-edge technology and the best talents from around the world, both from… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…

With an aerial photo of the Columbia Pictures studios (owned by Sony), the tweet explains that “Physint […] is a completely new ‘Action Espionage’ for the next-generation”.
“[The project] will be created using cutting-edge technology and the best talents from around the world, both from film and video games. Of course this is an interactive ‘game’, but the look, story, theme, cast, acting, fashion, sound, etc… are all at the next level of ‘Digital Entertainment’ that could be called a ‘movie’”, adds Hideo Kojima on the social network.

Considering that the visionary director is deliberately using the term “next generation” and his studio’s team will only be more free to work diligently on new projects after delivering OD (still without a date) and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach (2025), it wouldn’t be suurprising if Physint only comes out between 2027 and 2030.
Ãdd to this the speculations that the PS6 is scheduled for release in 2027 or 2028, and it’s not difficult to imagine that Hideo Kojima’s new espionage game will only be released on the successor to the PlayStation 5.
