Massive leak of Insomniac Games' upcoming projects

Marvel's Wolverine, X-Men and more

Insomniac Games has suffered a cyberattack that, according to analysts, could be the biggest leak in the history of video games. In addition to details about the Wolverine game, hackers also posted company’s plans for the next decade, unannounced projects, and employee information.

The perpetrators of the crime are the Ryhsida group, wich attempted to extort the studio by demanding 50 bitcoins, aproximately 2 million dollars, in exchange for not publishing the information. Without payment, the threat was carried out in the early hours of December 19th.

Over 1.6TB of iles were publicly released, unfortunately including private conversations of its employees on the Slack plataform, information about hirings and firings, as well as their personal data.

The Ryshida criminal group spoke with the CyberDaily website and revealed that the motivation behind the attack was purely financial, as a major game studio was an easy target. A one-week deadline for payment was given.

The leak includes Insomniac Games’ plans until the year 2035, with extansive details ranging from project budgets and sales projection to the planned game catalog.

As one of Sony’s most prolific studios, Insomniac games had in its plans a new Ratchet and Clank, unnounced multiplayer projects, X-Men games following the release of Wolverine, more Spider-Man adventures and spin-offs, and even a new IP.

For example, Spider-Man 3 could be released in 2028, split into two parts, with one released each year. Wolverine had its plotleaked, including the game’s ending. Entire sequences of gameplay, character art, and animations are already circulating on the internet.

Before all of this, in 2025, we would have Marvel’s Venom, a smaller project somewhat in line with the Miles Morales expansion, featuring a 10-hour campaign, 12 main missions, and 3 main villains, with Carnage being the primary antagonist.
