At the Metacritic, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth debuts with a score of 93

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the second part of the reimagining of the classic RPG, has just received reviews, and the scores are promising

The morning of this Thursday (22) marked the lifting of the embargo on Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and in practice, it mean that various reviews have been published by outlets worldwide. For now, the new JRPG from Aquare Enix is extremely well-received, debuting with 94 points on Metacritic.

Currently, at the time of publishing this article, the game has debuted with 94 points and now seems to have stabalized at 93 on Metacritic, while on OpenCritic, it also displays 93 points, aggregating almost 40 perfect scores.

Fortunately, at the moment, all the scores on Metacritic are positive, meaning above 80. In other words, there are no “mixed” or “negative” reviews, showing unanimity in reconizing the positive aspects of Final Fantasy Rebirth.

Overall, praise goes to the story, wich faithfully captures various iconic moments from the original adventure but brings a lot of extra content and expands the plot in a very saisfying way - offering new elements in the narrative to captivate the audience.

The open world of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth was another highly commented point, with gigantic scales and many activities to perform.

The aspects that most divided the critics were the pacing of the story and the side activities, wich, for some, hit the right note, while for others, they seemed to simple and not very note worthy.

Finally, the unanimous negative point of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth was its graphical issues, with image quality below expectations in Performance mode and some low-resolution textures.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth arrives on PS5 on February 29, 2024.
