After the recent financial report that affected Sony’s stock value, CNBC spoke with several analysts who believe in the arrival of a PS5 Pro later this year. Serkan Toto went even further and linked the release of the more powerful console to the launch of GTA 6. According to him, Sony aims to have a powerful console capable of running the game, wich is expected to be one of the biggest releases of all time.
The current PS5, unofficially known as the “Slim” is available at a discounted price and comes with minor improvements, such as a higher-capacity SSD. However, Sony is expected to go further by the end of the year, even is it does not translate into a significant increase in sales.
George Jijiashvili from Omdia commented on the potential arrival of the PS5 Pro from a sales perspective, stating that a more powerful version might excite dedicated gamers but may not have a strong impact on sales or profit margins.
