RUMOR: The Mandalorian is the new Star Wars game by Respawn Entertainment

With a series and a film in production, The Mandalorian has captivated the audience and, as everything indicates, will also make its way into the world of video games. It is claimed that this will be Respawn Entertainment’s “secret” new Star Wars game.

It hasn’t been established whether the protagonist will be Din Djarin or one of his fellow bounty hunters. However, the game’s setting will be during the era of the “Old Empire” - between Chapters IV and VI. In other words, even if it features the small-screen hero, the charismatic Grogu/Baby Yoda may not be part of the main storyline.

The Mandalorian project will be an FPS, taking players to various locations in the galaxy to hunt their targets - with the goal of collecting bounties on their heads, naturally. According to Jeff Grubb, it was in the early stages of development in the year 2022.

Grubb also states that the production was led by the creative director Mohammad Alavi. The professional has extensive experience with games of this genre, previously working on the Call of Duty franchise and later being involved in the development of Titanfall 2 and APEX Legends.

The proposal is to bring a faster pace and focus on high mobility in The Mandalorian enhanced by the character’s jetpack that allows the use of horizontal dash movement, high vertical jumps and swift evasive maneuvers.

In addition to the jetpack, rumors suggest that The Mandalorian will also feature the bounty hunter’s extensive arsenal and gadgets - such as a rocket launcher, a grappling hook, and the use of his visor to lock onto opponents.

It’s worth noting that a game like this might seem like a dream come true for many fans, however, none of this information has been confirmed by Respawn Entertainment or EA.
