Silent Hill 2 Remake is already in the final stages of production

In a recent interview, the producer of Silent Hill 2 Remake revealed that the game is almost ready

Currently, Silent Hill 2 Remake (produced by Bloober Team) is in a curious situation: last year, Konami revealed that the game was pratically ready, but in the latest State of Play, we still haven’t seen a release date. Now, another producer has confirmed that the game is in the final stages of its development.

The information came from Motoi Okamoto, a producer at Konami, who spoke to Famitsu magazine about the current state of the Silent Hill franchise. The discussion revolved around the serie’s comeback, but the producer was also asked about the development status of Silent Hill 2 Remake, responding: “we are at the final stage of development. Unfortunately, there is little I can tell you at this point. As a game, you can imagine Silent Hill 2 is the same as everyone imagines, and is easy to play in modern times, and can be enjoyed with beautiful visuals that look like a direct form of memory correction”.

There is still a big unknown surrounding Silent Hill 2 Remake. Despite this discourse being around for almost a year, the game still lacks an announced release date, and in the latest trailer, it raised some concerns among fans (just look at the number of likes, dislikes and comments there).

Perhaps what Okamoto is saying is that the game has been playable from start to finish for some time, but it is going through polishing stages throughout the campaign, addressing bugs, refining combat, and enchancing the overall experience.
