Twitch updates sexual content guidelines
Twitch just changed forever
The largest streaming plataform held a special year-end broadcast where it introduced an update to its terms and conditions. In a phase where there are again discussions about what is or isn’t allowed to be streamed on the plataform, partly due to the new topless meta, the brand decided to clarify and modify some points.

Transmissions that intentionally focus on pelvic regions, buttocks, or breasts are now allowed on the plataform, as long as the content creator uses the appropriate label for sexual content. The same applies to writing on the body or other forms of expressive art. Erotic or suggestive dances(Twerk, Grinding, Pole Dancing) will also be permitted.
Still within the spectrum of eroticism but oriented towards art, it is now allowed to draw, animate, or sculpt nude figures, regardless of gender, Like all previous rules, this will only be allowed using the new label.
We’ve gotten feedback that our policies around sexual content are unclear so we’ve drawn clearer boundaries between what is & isn’t permitted on Twitch.
We also recognize that not everyone wants to see certain content, so we’re updating our criteria for homepage recommendations.

Despite all the changes indicating a desire to regulate but not prohibit sexually suggestive content, the rules regarding clothing remain unchanged. Full or partial nudity, or clothing that shows the outline of sexual organs, continues to be prohibited.
As for games, titles that are solely pornographic remain prohibited, including changes to existing games that involve sexual activities or nudity. Games that only have moments of nudity or sexual content but are not focused on that aspect will be protected under the new sexual content label.
The new rules will also no longer suggest various types of labels. This includes: Drugs, Intoxications, Excessive Tobacco Use, Violent and Graphic Depictions, Gambling and Sexual Themes. All broadcasts that have one or more of these labels will be excluded from the plataform’s main page and will not be recommended to Twitch users.
We know collaborations are foundational to streamer success. We have big ambitions to make them even more a part of the Twitch product experience in the future with Stream Together.
Next year we’re adding merged chat, combined viewership, and numerous other Stream Together… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…

The failure to use the correct labels for broadcasts will result in Twitch automatically assigning these labels. If this violation is repeated, the account will be suspended.
Finally, outside of these rule changes, Twitch also announced the discontinuation of Squad Streams starting from January 17, 2024. As a replacement, the brand will expedite the lauch of Stream Together and enchance the system to allow for greater unity, such as shared chat and shared viewers.
